Youth Programs  

UCM's primary focus is to offer engaged programming for all ages in full and half-day sessions. From Lego's to Stories for Justice our programming will introduce students to the fields of criminal justice, science, math, public relations, technology, and teaching to broaden the students interest and expose them to future career opportunities.

Parents: You can enroll multiple children in multiple classes at one time! You will receive permission slips, waivers, and other information via email once the registration is completed.

Architectural & Mechanical 3D CADD

In this course, students create 2D drawings and 3D models of objects, structures, and machines using the Autodesk Inventor and Revit 2020 software, and complete engaging activities to explore and discover their fields of interest. High school students who have used these programs in their Project Lead The Way courses can also learn more advanced CAD skills.

This course will include modules that contain 2D drawings and 3D modeling instructional videos, assignments, and quizzes. Students create CAD drawings using the Autodesk Inventor and Revit programs. After completing the modules, students will have the option to participate in a design competition and submit their final designs to win a $25 gift card! Three top designs will be selected and announced via email.

OPEN ENROLLMENT Fee: $249.00
This is a self-paced course available on Blackboard from June 15th to Aug.10th. Instructions on how to access and use Blackboard will be provided once registration is completed. Students are encouraged to complete the course activities at a pace harmonious to their learning-and-lifestyles. Sign Up on or before June 12th for a $25.00 discount. We′ll learn how to spot the fakes and then try to trick each other with contests for the best fake and the team who can spot the most fakes. We'll write for digital platforms and create media for TikTok, You-tube, and blogs on topics we care about. For students entering grades 7-10.
Camp is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Room will be determined at a later date.

Greater Kansas City Writing Project: Stories for Justice (Grades 7-12)

This camp connects students’ passions, their experiences, their stories to issues of community importance. Students will play with digital storytelling, creative argument and social justice writing in a supportive environment. Working alongside professional creatives and a dynamic group of young writers, participants will hone argument writing skills and storytelling craft. An Open Mic performance allow these stories for justice to meet a larger audience.

Course will run daily M-F from 9am - 3pm. Room number will be determined at a later date.
