Students will build speaking and listening skills within the context of aviation topics (e.g., pre-flight checks and ground movements). Through voice-only and communicative practice, students will work towards meeting the International Civil Aviation Organization′s (ICAO′s) Operational Level 4 skill areas for structure, vocabulary, comprehension, pronunciation, fluency, and interactions.

Textbook: English for Aviation, Oxford, ISBN: 0194579425 (can order from Amazon)

App: The English Pronunciation Tutor Mobile APP (Language Arts Press).

Required Technology:

• Laptop or PC

• Webcam

• Reliable Internet access

• Android/iOS device with voice recording/uploading capabilities

• Headset

Class Dates: 1/11/2021 - 2/19/2021 Fee: $1,300.00
This is an online course. Schedule to be arranged. 2x per week, 1.5 hours per class. Face-to-face classes are also available on-site in the KC and Warrensburg/Sedalia, MO areas or at the Missouri Innovation Center in Lee's Summit, MO. Please contact Valerie Heming for details. Students will continue to work towards or meet the International Civil Aviation Organization′s (ICAO′s) Operational Level 4 skills areas for structure, vocabulary, comprehension, pronunciation, fluency, and interactions.

This course is delivered entirely online, however, face-to-face classes are also available on-site in the KC and Warrensburg/Sedalia, MO areas or at the Missouri Innovation Center in Lee's Summit, MO.
